Cloud Strife

Cloud Strife (クラウド・ストライフ, Kuraudo Storaifu?) is a fictional character and the main protagonist in Square's (now Square Enix's) role-playing game Final Fantasy VII and several of its sequels and spin-offs. His original design was created by Final Fantasy VII character designer Tetsuya Nomura. Cloud's appearance is marked by spikey blond hair, striking blue eyes, dark clothing and his Buster Sword (バスターソード, Basutā Sōdo?),[1] which previously belonged to his friend Zack Fair. Cloud is voiced by Takahiro Sakurai in Japanese,[2] and in English by Steve Burton.[3]
In Final Fantasy VII, Cloud is a mercenary and self-proclaimed ex-member of SOLDIER, a select, genetically augmented military unit operating under the defacto world government and megacorporation Shinra Electric Power Company. Fighting against Shinra in the resistance group "AVALANCHE" and driven by a feud with the primary antagonist, Sephiroth,[4] Cloud learns to come to terms with his troubled past and adapts to his role as a leader. Cloud has also appeared in several other titles outside the Final Fantasy VII continuity. Such titles include Itadaki Street Special, Final Fantasy Tactics, Dissidia: Final Fantasy, Ehrgeiz, and the Kingdom Hearts series.
Cloud has garnered a primarily positive reception by critics. Described as "iconic," the character has been ranked highly in various published character lists. Cloud remains popular among fans, and continues to place highly in popularity polls. Cloud has also become the basis for a variety of merchandise, such as action figures and jewellery.

Zack Fair

Zack Fair is a non-playable character from Final Fantasy VII and the main protagonist of its prequel, Crisis Core -Final Fantasy VII-. The wielder of the Buster Sword before Cloud Strife, Zack received the Buster Sword from his predecessor Angeal Hewley. Zack is a 1st Class SOLDIER and is Cloud's best friend during their time working for Shinra. He is affectionately nicknamed "the puppy" in Before Crisis and Crisis Core.
In Final Fantasy VII, Zack only appears in flashback sequences which portray him as almost identical to Cloud Strife, the game's main protagonist. These sequences elaborate on Cloud's past and his connection to Sephiroth, Cloud's arch-nemesis. In Crisis Core, Zack's own history and influence upon the Final Fantasy VII world are brought into focus. Zack also appears in Last Order -Final Fantasy VII-, Before Crisis -Final Fantasy VII-, and briefly in Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children Complete.
If the player performs the correct actions in Crisis Core, Zack can get his own fanclub like many other 1st Class SOLDIERs. Known simply as the "Zack Fair Fanclub", the player's actions determine its popularity by the end of the game.

Angeal Hewley

Angeal Hewley (アンジール・ヒューレー Anjīru Hyūrē) is a 1st Class SOLDIER, approximately 25 years old. He is the son of Gillian Hewley, created by Dr. Hollander for Project G. He plays the role of Zack Fair's mentor in Crisis Core, and passes down the Buster Sword to him. His true character is stoic and serious, but he has a playful side, giving Zack the nickname "Zack the Puppy". Angeal gets along well with the 1st Classes, Sephiroth and Genesis. He bears two white wings on the right side of his back, which seems to cause him some uneasiness as he considers them the traits of a monster. He has a small fanclub in Crisis Core, called the Keepers of Honor. He is voiced by Kazuhiko Inoue in Japanese, and Josh Gilman in English.

Sephiroth

Sephiroth (セフィロス, Sefirosu?) is a fictional character in the role-playing game Final Fantasy VII developed by Square Co. Introduced there as the main antagonist, character designer Tetsuya Nomura wanted his role in the story to be different from the other Final Fantasy villains while his design is intended to contrast directly with that of the main character, Cloud Strife. His Japanese voice actor is Toshiyuki Morikawa; in English, he was first voiced by Lance Bass in Kingdom Hearts and by George Newbern in all his subsequent appearances.

Genesis Rhapsodos

Genesis Rhapsodos (ジェネシス ・ラプソードス, Jeneshisu Rapusōdosu), originally known as G, is a character appearing in Crisis Core -Final Fantasy VII- and Dirge of Cerberus -Final Fantasy VII-. He is approximately twenty-five years old and is a 1st Class SOLDIER. His signature weapon is a rapier with a complex hilt decorated with bird motifs. He is the product of the Jenova Project G. Weiss the Immaculate and Nero the Sable of Deepground are referred to as his "brothers" in both Dirge of Cerberus and Crisis Core.
Genesis is obsessed with the story of LOVELESS. The obsession goes deep, as he often recites phrases from the epic and considers himself, Angeal, Sephiroth, and Zack to be characters from the poem.
In the Japanese versions of Dirge of Cerberus and Crisis Core, Genesis is voiced by Camui Gackt. In the English version of Dirge of Cerberus, he is voiced by Robin Atkin-Downes, which has been heavily criticised. However, in the English version of Crisis Core, Downes's heavily accented rendition of Genesis was replaced with a younger-sounding and faintly-accented Genesis provided by Oliver Quinn, whose performance has been better received.
